On our first server, we only use reduced Linux Slackware 7 distro
because it's very convenient and easily adaptable. We have
developped a simple but complete driver to access the LCD panel,
and written several maintenance scripts. Apache is used as an administration
server, and OpenSSH has also been installed for remote access. We also
installed a DNS and a DHCP server. Lilo has been configured to be
accessed through the serial port so that no keyboard nor screen is
needed anymore. We'll soon package the distro and make it available here, so please be a bit patient.
